Hot Cats on a Tin Roof

If you know me personally then you know I love a good themed anything so when Brent approached me about doing a Elizabeth Taylor inspired shoot, it was an absolute yes! Then came the hard part of setting it all up like finding perfect props, clothing, and location to recreate our decided Cat On A Hot Tin Roof styled shoot. It was either that or Cleopatra and once you see Sarah and Austin together, you too will believe that we made the right decision.

Brent and Anna had the hard job of finding our Elizabeth Taylor (Sarah) and Paul Newman (Austin). My hardest job was making Sarah…who has really long hair…into Liz, I decided to start with the eyebrows.

After searching just about ever store in the area for the “Maggie” dress, Anna and Brent found one at Macy’s. Now we know that the dress was actually white in the movie but how beautiful does Sarah look in the navy….I’m pretty sure I like it better!

As usual, we went to a great little place in the area that I had no idea even existed. The Oak View County Park is a 19th century plantation house that’s just hanging out in the center of Raleigh and it is so beautiful, plus they have a huge herb garden that features an herb of the month!

“I didn’t want to have to do this, but you leave me no choice. Here comes the smolder.” hehe. Austin and Sarah, you both did such a great job!

I’ve mentioned Kathy of Petals by KC before and she’s come through once again but not with hair accessories this time! She let us borrow her husband’s 1969 Camaro convertible for the shoot…don’t worry, he knew about this and was even there because our photo shoots are always entertaining!

You sir. In the driver’s seat. Yes, you. James Dean called from the grave and said you can take his place after he saw that last photo.

This is all just part one of this shoot and there will be more to come soon, are you excited?? Huge thank you for everyone who was involved!
